Among the evaporated salt, there is also D-D H2Ocean. Though harder to find nowadays.

Among the small companies that make salt, ESV is also to be noted, as their 4-part approach is different from the other salts. Precisely to avoid problems with the different elements from mixing unevenly.

Thanks for answering my question and hello from the SC Lowcountry. My nitrates hover around 20 to 30ppm. I do monthly water changes of 50 gallons on a 140 gallon tank and it drops them to less than or about 10ppm. I run the POV 1 by reef octopus and it works great. I also run gfo and carbon on separate reactors changing them every two weeks. I have been thinking of running a recirculating bio-pellet reactor to see if this can help. Should I do that first or possibly go to bi-monthly water changes using 50 gallons.

I was just wondering about nano macro planted tank today. Kinda funny it came up on your show.

@will, I would bet if you did 30g every two weeks you would notice a drop as the detritus left would have less time to break down fully; plus it is slightly increasing over your current percentage.

just switched from a mag7 to a reef octopus diablo 3500. its one of the newer dc controllable pumps. by controllable it has its own control with a +/- button and a feed button to control. got it online for a great price, the same price i would have paid in lfs for a mag9. around 160. its noticeably quieter and dissipates half the wattage of the mag7. which caused the temp to drop a couple of degrees. but its cold up here in Canada, Toronto, sitting around -20degrees c
