In addition, if you have a controller like that of the Apex or ReefKeeper, they usually come with a temp probe. Program one of the outlets to control your heater as backup. Temperature sensor of heaters sometimes fail and can turn your tank to seafood soup.
Reggie…great advice. That’s another reason I swear by controllers…fail safes.
