Lanthanum has been around for many years. I use SeaKlear Phosphate removal, which is pure lanthanum. 5-10 cc in a liter of RODI or saline, slowly dripped into a 10 micron sock. Usually need 2 socks as the flocculant (precipitate) clogs the pores quickly. A IV bag with IV tubing is ideal, but there are plenty of DIY solutions. Very effective at dropping high phophates
