Hi mark I bought a reef octopus today he’s great just a question what is the best food for him does it need to be raw or cooked if I’m feeding raw langoustine or cooked langoustine does it matter yours sincerely Bruce

Dear bruce, with all due respect i dont think having an octopus in your reef will be your best choice. Hes gonna eat anything he can catch and some. He should except live and thawed frozen shellfish, silversides, and either small live fish or fish chunks when u can get him to except prepared foods.. good luck

    Hi Mark,

Awesome video with awesome Reef Junkie Tips!

By the way, I totally agree with the statement you made about a house being a great real estate investment. Eileen is totally out of her mind for stating that real estate is a “horrible investment”. I bought my place for $263,000 and two years later its worth over $300,000. Can’t beat that kind of return on an investment!

    Happy Reefing Mark

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when you and your better half discussed house buying criteria’s, LOL!
Can you get her to do a similar video on how it really went 😉

very funny video. A few years ago I would have thought you all were compulsive nuts. Now I see the point. House can come and go, but a reef tank burns itself into your psyche.

    Hello Mark,

Watched your video and loved it. I was lucky to buy a house that had a crawl (or should I say walk) space under the house that has easier access than what you showed so I have a great place for RODI, auto top-off tanks, etc.
I would like to add to what you are saying regarding breaker panel (load centers). I found out the hard way that even though there are available knock-out spaces for extra circuit breakers on the outside, the breaker box bus bars on the inside the panel sometimes don’t go past the extra knock-outs, making it impossible to add circuits to the existing panel. Normal home inspections don’t cover this since they only look for the condition of the load center. If possible, I recommend being present during the inspection and look at the inside of the load center with the inspector to see if there really is space for adding circuits.

    Have a great weekend!!

  • Great video Mark! This is a great information for anyone looking to get into the hobby.

  • Jan…she went straight for the kitchen and I went exploring throughout the house. She said the kitchen had potential and I knew the unfinished storage meant I could have a fish room. Then we made an offer!
