Hey Mark, I recently received my new Lumatek dimmable 400w ballasts. They have a setting for 250w and 250 hqi (I’m running 250w bulbs). What is the “hqi” setting and can I run it? Does it hurt anything to try?

Right now my wife is taking care my fresh water aquarium at home 75 gallon. I have been buying all the equipment need it for this hooby so when I get there in Sep I am ready to star .

Good point, i my self have an electronic balast that i hate, it over drives my bulbs way past the sweet spot of the bulb i have, but soon i will upgrade to LED with on the fly color changes 😀
Which ballast are you running? Most e-ballasts will detect what voltage is right for the bulb and adjust accordingly
