hello marc: quick question. my r/o unit is now a 100 gpd.. do you see a problem with knocking the first membrane down to an 75 and adding the other 75 thus kicking it up to an 150 gpd r/o unit? thank you dave
What kind of glue is recommended?
Rusty…I use and recommend EcoTech Marine’s Coral Glue. You can also use any super glue that has cyanoacrylate in it. Usually the gel type super glues have that ingredient.
Beautiful Bellus and Xhatch!
Couldn’t focus on your tip 😀
Acan frags and Blastomussas have never grown in my tank unless I glued them down.
Hi Mark,
How do you glue down anything under water? It seems even if you were to drain the tank to expose the rock the rock would still be wet. Is their a special glue that works in this conditions that is not harmful for the life inside the tank?I guess I’m missing something.
Thanks,
R…
@Robert Smyth
If you pull the frag out of water for a couple of seconds and apply the gel type super glue there and then wait for a few seconds for it to start to sticky up, that helps in my experience. Cyanoacrylate can cure in water and is not itself very water soluable, so it pretty much stays where you put it. You can also use one of the clay type epoxies meant for aquarium use.
Friday morn quicktip idea. Some sites recommend to dissolve kalkwasser in vinegar before mixing with water. The idea is to make more Ca available and not precipitate out. Your video does not talk about this. Is this a good thing to do or bad thing to do?

Hi Mark, always enjoy your stuff, just wonderin…………..how early do you tape these quick tips? sometimes it looks like half of you is still in bed or out from the night before…LOL keep up the good work my friend!!!!
Great tip Mark.
Do you or anyone here remove all of your frags from the plug and glue them directly to your rock? I’ve heard of people doing that but didn’t understand why not just wait until it encrust over the plug. Is there an actual benefit of doing it that way?
Thanks
Devin
I have worms in my aquarium what I can do please help me
Devin…some people think frag plugs look unnatural so they glue their corals directly to the rocks.
