Top 5 Things in the Hospital That You Could Use On Your Tank
I’m currently in the hospital delivering, (ok, I’m providing support, at best), our son and I’ve spied 5 things that you could definitely use on your tank.
And until the government run healthcare system kicks in, I’ve provided links where you can buy a good equivalent in the meantime.
#5: Brute Trash Can Tank Personalities that would benefit: Tank Dabbler, Reef Enthusiast, Reef JunkieGreat for water changes. No hauling of buckets. Easy salt mixing. Luckily, you can get these @ Home Depot or Lowe’s right now. |

#4: Intense LightingTank Personalities that would benefit: Tank Dabbler, Reef Enthusiast, Reef Junkie
Metal Halide perhaps? One thing is for sure, the baby is going to need sunglasses when he pops out! Here’s a good lighting setup for a reef enthusiast or reef junkie’s tank. And here’s an LED one for you tank dabblers. |
|
#3: Integrated Overhead LightTank Personalities that would benefit: all
The curve is a nice accent to the dullness of this hospital room. Here’s a way to suspend your fixture from the ceiling to get the same look. |

#2 Sediment FilterTank Personalities that would benefit: all
The nurse took me to the “nourishment” room (yes, the sign outside actually says that) and what’s the first thing I see? A sediment filter! Whoa, this place is top notch! Too bad they didn’t add in the other missing pieces to really clean up the water here. (And this one needs to be changed!) Sediment filters are a must for any RO/DI system and speaking of RO/DI, here is a good one and here’s why you need one. |

#1 Dosing PumpTank Personalities that would benefit: Reef Junkie
This one is wicked precise, but SUPER noisy. Here is a great reef tank equivalent that is virtually silent that will keep your tank’s levels in check without you lifting a finger. |
More to come after the delivery! (Watch for pics!)

Yay baby Callahan!
Thanks Derek…he’s quite the cute reefkeeper. (Like how I already decided his future for him?)
Dosing link doesn’t work! Becoming a reef enthusiast and I think I need on, would love to see what you recommend!
Thanks for all your awesome info, I’m starting from the beginning so I can relearn what I may have forgotten 🙂
